Headed out solo this morning to look for some ice to drill through.
Pointed my truck towards the Uintas and was greeted with crystal clear blue skies, a very nice change from duck hunting yesterday in the thick GSL fog.
Drilled through about 8” of ice with line in water about 9:45am.
Couple of 8-9” Brookies at first, small but pretty.
Then Tigers and Bows started to show up.
Sonar activity almost non-stop.
Don’t you love it when a fish attacks your jig over and over until hooked!
About 9/10 fish were like this.
Lost track of fish released.
Chartreuse Atomic Teaser, tipped with 1/2” crawler bits.
I like those Teasers but they are fragile. I never lost one and the more it got chewed up it seemed like the fish liked it better.
Five or six times I had to use pliers to bend hook back to designed shape and metal never broke.
Stayed at first hole I drilled and never moved.
Was in a whopping 7.6fow.
Some fish attacking lure only a foot or two under ice cap and following it down till I got barb in them.
My knees really started to hurt so at 12:50 I set alarm for a 2 pm ‘game over’ alert.
I decided to start fish count again after setting alarm and in next 70 minutes released 23 fish.
This was a quantity over quality, although a few of the fish were pretty nice, trip.
I must have caught 70-80 fish so quite a nice trip!
Alarm went off at 2pm and I immediately packed up to head home to beat traffic (I didn’t…. ).
Be careful on road and do not veer to either side very far.
I had zero problems but I could tell others were not quite so lucky.
Edit* Site will not attach pics for some reason?

hey Shane you almost caught enough in one trip to make up for the season you won't be able to fish this year.. Great job and glad you had an excellent trip... Thanks for sharing the fun with us... Wonder what is up with the picture deal.. Pat posted his a different way than usual and I could finally open a picture on my computer for a change.. So hopefully we can figure out how he posted them.. Thanks J
When things get stressful think I'll go fish'en and worry about it tomorrow!

I couldn't post pics using the "Add image to post".  So I made a word document, put the pics inside the word doc and then converted it to a Jpeg.  Our everlovin' BFT system will allow us to attach files but currently won't accept Jpeg pics.  But on PMs you can't even attach files.  Wunnerful.

I'm having the same issue and have contacted theangler twice about it so far, but no response, I'll contact the owner today and see if they can help. If worse comes to worse, we will just have to start using the attachment method that is supposed to be for PDF files, even though they don't want us to use that method for pics, at least until they get it fixed. The biggest issue with using that method is that system does not resize your pics, so it must be done manually  Sad

Yes, you can simply do the copy and paste thing.  But , as you point out, the picture cannot be too large.  I work a lot with using Word docs and adding pics...which you can easily enlarge or reduce after sticking into a Word doc...and then converting the Word to a PDF file for attachment.  More complicated but if you need to post something visual to make a point...or show off your catch...that's all we got until they correct it.  (Don't know if it's pertinent or not, but my system for detecting problem websites (Webroot) displays a "phishing" alert when I click on the "Add image to post" link.  And it won't even allow me to override and connect.)

I'm using a different system and get the same alert, a little concerning, hopefully it isn't a phishing scam, but it appears the system is working now
