BaJa trip
#1
I am looking at taking sons on a fishing excursion down to Cabo or LaPaz.
I figure as it will be our first time down there I figured to get a guide.  Does anybody have any experience with guides down there?  Recommendations would be greatly appreciate.  Also opinions on best time of year to go.

Look online and you can find what species are best and generally when. I’ve only been down there (Cabo) once, but there are plenty of guides that will take you out. Don’t pass up the dockside restaurants that will cook up your catch right there when you step off the boat. Some of the best fish I’ve ever eaten!

We were after Roosters (April…ish). It didn’t get any. After striking out there, we just parked over a reef and caught a bunch of rabbit fish, small snappers, etc., so that we had something to show for the day.

Did you book with a guide before going?  None of us speak Spanish and I'm wondering about rooms and such.  For me just showing up finding rooms getting from airport to ? seems to be a bit daunting.
Can a person just show up at the dock looking for a guide?

I just realized 99% of the people of Mexico might be upset with me right now, since I am an American. I've started to wonder about the safety of going down.
