bear river bird fefuge.

fished the refuge on friday nightwith a buddy...it was kinda slow.... only caught three big bait fish ( carp ) before dark... fished in an area i call the flat....
not too many cats... and none real big.... i got one arond 5lbs or so give or take some... but no giants ... all fish caught on worms carp meat, carp guts or chicken livers cught 11 channels all around 15 to 17 inches .. not to mention a few fiddlers...
as well as six bullheads and one more carp after dark that was a cannible... it was strange seeing that piece of carp in its mouth....
but not a bad night .. just no toads....

How were the mosquitos? I like to fish the lower Bear but at times the mosquitos are just thick. Nice big piece of bait you got there.

suprisingly very few bugs.. but they will get bad with this hot weather... no doubt about that.... it gets hard to breathe out there sometimes.... but the possibilities of a giant make it worth while....
