I'll be heading to Pellican Lake this weekend (May 17th). I've never been there before. We will have a boat as well as our float tubes. Can anyone lend some information about the area, what to expect, what to take as far as tackle, good locations for fish, etc?
Much appreciated

If you really want to have fun at pelican, take a fly rod along and pick up some imitation water skeeters(basically a sponge with rubber bands tied on for legs)Just flip it into or near the reeds or weeds and hold on.If the blue gills are hitting(may be a little early)It can be one of the best fishing days you'll ever had. Those large bluegills at pelican are alot of fun especially on a light fly rod.Good luck and let me know how you do.
