We've been up a number of times on the weekday, and other than July 4 (which was crazy), it seems there are fewer boats. I was especially surprised on Pioneer Day, when it was almost deserted.
I'm wondering if because Jordanelle is so much closer for the SLC crowd and (based on the reports) has had good Kokanee fishing, that folks are heading there instead of making the drive up Daniel's Canyon.
I also wonder if the pricing and attitude of the outfit that controls the boat launches and campgrounds has made people look else where. My experience with the folks at the state parks is much more positive.
Then add to that a million tiny cutts hitting your line while trying to catch kokes and it's just not worth the drive. We have done well at Jordanelle and Deer creek this year, and with a newborn it's nice to stay close to home. And then we have the gorge less than 3 hours away, much more worth the drive than the Berry.
