Echo & Rockport fish & ramp report

Absolutely tore up some nice teener smallies a week ago fishing the bank N of the Echo ramp, but nada today.  Bites & even small fish hard to come by.  Main ramp out of the water for some time now, but that old one-lane ramp a few hundred yds N looks doable.  No hurry to get home, so drove over to give the Rockport ramp a look-see.  Got detained a tad by the asphalt crews, but no big deal.  They're not working Fr-Sat-Sun, and the guy said they should be finished end of next week.  Anyway, that remaining one-lane goes down forever into the water, but I walked out knee-deep and it's pretty swampy.  Silt is plowed off to the side as high as a parking lot snow pile.  Only one boat was on the water today.

Thanks for the report and update on the ramp condition at Echo and RP. We tried to use that old ramp last year at Echo when the water level was even lower than it is now but it was so broken up that it did not work out. We ended up launching just to the side of that old ramp, where there is a smooth solid gravel slope, it worked out well.
