Another Catfish post
#1
We got a late start this morning, on the water at 8:45.

We decided to try Bird Island, and had never approached it from the Provo harbor. It seemed like it took us forever to get there, we ended up on the West side.

We decided to give the bobber and cut bait a try this time, instead of trolling like we usually do.

I caught the first fish of the day at 10:30, and it was 31".  What a way to start the day. My next fish at 10:45 was 29.5".  Richard didn't do so hot.  He had several pop and drops  but nothing wanted to hang on.  We didn't catch another fish for 2 hours.

We swung around the South end of the island and headed East, staying far enough South to avoid the rocks.

Richard finally caught his first fish at 1:25. We continued to troll to the East.

About 2:30 the fish started hitting on flaits and cut bait.

As the day wore on we started hooking up again and ended up with 13 total, 4 - 29 inchers, 2 - 28 inchers, a 26" and 27", we released everything as Richard said he didn't feel like messing with them today.

We saw Pisco and his grandkids when we launched long enough to say hi.

It was a beautiful day on the water, and we had a great day together.
