Electric auger

Is anyone on here running a 24v strikemaster auger? Hoping I can meet up and swap batteries momentarily to help diagnose an issue with mine. Bought one new this season. Used it for a handful of trips. No issues. Not real hard work though with the small amounts of ice. On my last trip, Sat, I wasn't able to drill a single hole. Battery was indoors on charger all night and displayed a full charge. Would like to try a different battery. Decide if the power head or the battery is the issue before turning in a warranty claim

I am. And It did act odd on my last holes but it was low so I figured i would see how it does tomorrow on Echo. You are welcome to try my battery. Not sure how best to connect to do that but you can PM me or text me

My ion is acting up, full battery, it stops and starts a bit when under load but not when no load? Had it about 5 years never a problem but last 2 trips it started doing that? It still gets through the ice, just annoying in the start stop thing?? Brother had a newer one same battery, I think we should have tried switching battery last trip to just check if battery related, not sure we will get out again this year? Wondering if anyone with an ION auger has had this happen?
May have to do some research , maybe call factory?

I am having the same problem with my Ion auger .   Went to Sportsman's Warhouse to try and figure it out , but no chargers , batterys or augers to compare it to .  Let me know what you come up ,    Mine is  years old also .

My ION simply wont turn when it gets really cold like 0 degrees or less.  It must have grease in the gear box that sets up like concrete. Probably not your problem this year with the warm temperatures. Happened to me at Fish Lake and Fontenelle when ts really cold. Kind of disappointing for something made for Ice fishing and fairly costly!!

I agree, ice augers should be able to perform the designated task in the intended environment. Sadly, I'm leaning away from cold weather as the culprit. Still acts the same running it inside the house. Will start and spin for 2 seconds then turn of and beep couple times.

Sadly, in checking online this is not an isolated issue. Seeing others online having similar problems. Most often battery problem suggested, second cold temps or combination. Mine first did it when really cold, but went away when warmer but then it did it even when not real cold. I have read when battery’s get old the lights may show full charge but battery is not full?
I also read these battery’s only last 4-5 years?? Seems short? Mine is 5-6 years old I think!
Hoping to get brothers battery and do a check before Ice is gone.
