Burraston Ponds
#1
I'm taking a small group of scouts to Burraston Ponds this Friday and Saturday, wondering if anyone has some tips on what to use there, what to avoid, etc. Any help would be great!

[#505000]I fished there a few times last spring. They generally pump those ponds full of hatchery planters. Most any of your standard trout baits (worms powerbait ect..) will produce.[/#505000]

[#505000]Just be ready for some serious crowds.[/#505000]

In addition to the abundance of planter bows Burraston also is full of some pretty good sized carp that the scouts may enjoy playing with. Try making dough balls or boilies with the scouts then try for some carp. Heres a link for carp fishing tips.

where it is a holliday weekend they will probably have the portashitters they will be on the north end. There isnt running water there though so bring lots. You are only 5 minutes from town so if you forgat anything or the fish dont want to be dinner you can swing up into town, the store is hit and miss for being open on sunday.

Good luck, hope the fish cooperate, and i will be in mona this weekend as well but i think that i am going to fish yuba with my bro sat morning
