Boat on Deer Creek?

Son went by Deer Creek week or so ago and told me there was some open water and then ice in other areas with people ice fishing.  i've also read reports of  open water.
What I am wondering is if the main State Park ramp is open and if there is open water fishable from a boat.
Boat is starting to feel a bit chapped and dried out.

This is a copy from the state park web site dated 1/27.

 [b]Ice Conditions:[/b]  There is partial ice at this time. The north end by The Island has some ice. Main boat launch area is open water.

I'll let you know more about it after tomorrow.  There are four of us going to fly fish from toons/tubes and we are going to launch at the main boat ramp. We were up there on the 21st and there were three boats up there then with plenty of open water but you know how quickly things can change when it comes to ice.
