Willard morning cruse
#1
Went to willard south this morning started at 7:30. Saw tin-can at the launch and followed him to the feed lot.  Water had lots of shad balls followed by lots of predators.  Some suspended some on the bottom.
Most were in 17 to 15 fow.  circled around for 3 hours picking up four 12 to 14 inch wiper  just babies. Good fight on light spinning rods. No bird action.
Wanted to switch the chase moved out to the island and crused around the perimeter in 17 feet dragging bb and worm harness.  Got two nice cats but no eyes. Started to cross over the top of the island at 12 ft. Not much on top. But good numbers all around the perimeter.  Big shad balls but no feeding fish. Time for the wind to start so we went for lunch
. Water temps about 65  I guess I'll wait for Halloween ? ?.
Oh the river inlet was almost dry don't know why.

Thanks for the report, glad you were able to get out there and have some action from both the small wipers and the cats, both put up a good fight, although the size of the cats, make for a better fight. We were around the island last week but never got on top, good to hear it's at least 12 feet below the surface. The water coming down the inlet channel was shut off when we drove by as well. We are toward the end of our secondary watering season, so maybe they we open the gates up, once it is over but who knows for sure. Undecided

Glad you got some tugs.  Care to share...best colors, depth, speed?

Txs for the report. Did you chance see if Tincan had any luck on the way out?
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew
