SCOFIELD
#1
went to scofield today. what a fantastic day. no clouds anywhere. there is about 16 inches of snow on the ice with about half of that going to slush. we fished in 10 to 12 feet of water. my buddy skunked me today. he caught 3 really nice rainbows, all about 19 to 20 inches . not alot of people fishing, maybe a total of 30 -40 was all. the ice is still over 20 inches thick. we were using white grubs with nightcrawlers.

hook um in the jaw [cool]

If you go to Scofield again fish more shallow, like three to five feet deep. This time of year the fish are moving in for ice off. Last year about this time I fished in three feet of water and couldn't pull them in fast enough, literally.

I am planning on going Saturday for probably my final ice trip of the year. Let me know if anyone else is going or if anyone hears of any problems with the ice or slush with the warm week we are hoping to have this week.
