We have a family event near Meeks Cabin Reservoir this weekend (Sept 25).
I have a UT/WY fishing license. I'm assuming there are trout there but know nothing else of the lake.
Does anyone have any information or insights about the fishing at Meeks Cabin?
Is it worth taking my boat?
Any information would be helpful, I can't even find a fishing report with Google.

OK so you can have a boat on the lake with a motor? I heard rumors that you couldn't. Thanks for the feedback I'll let you know how it went.

I went to Meeks on Labor Day weekend. Water was low and I did not see anyone fishing but there were a few campers along the shore. I threw spinners for about an hour along the shoreline west of the dam. I had one little hit that felt like a small planter and that was it.
Good luck.

It`s alot lower now than it was labor day. I saw a kayak style boat on it Saturday. It doesn`t look like you could launch any kind of bigger boat now because of the level.

They do have a boat launch and it is legal to have boats with motors on the lake but from the sounds of it you might have a tough time launching a larger boat. If you make it up there, please us know how you do, thanks.

Meeks cabin is a native fishery. It has only cutthroat and mountain whitefish. Try some spinners or a fly rod. There are a couple fishing access areas on the blacks fork on the way up to the lake that would likely be more fun for brookies on a fly rod.
Enjoy

Jiggy,
You are correct in saying that it is not planted and is a wild fishery. It has a very low fish population. It is not all native though. I has a decent population of brookies that I wish were not in there. Let the fish grow there. There is not a bunch of fish being dumped in like the rest of the state. Also take note you need a Wyoming license to fish Meeks Cabin this time of year it is all in Wyoming.

Hey Wanted to let you all know I went to Stateline Reservoir (Lyman?) by China Meadows. Caught a bunch of rainbows under 12 inches. Some had beautiful color, but it was a pretty lake, calm day, good weather and fishing was constant.
Thanks for the replies. Wanted to let y'all know how it went.
