Jigheads for plastic worms?

I was just wondering if anyone uses jigheads for plastic worms? what size would be effective for a 4-6 inch worm? thanks for the help!<br><br>

Hi Kybasser,<br><br>Well, it is usually more popular to rig bulkier, fatter-bodied single tail grubs, skirted hula grubs and tube baits on jig heads.<br><br>Worms will work as well on jig heads, although worms are more often "rigged" Carolina, Texas or Dropshot style. For example, here is a good photo of how to Texas-rig an 8" worm in Florida (they have big bass that want 8" worms there) for shallow water fishing:<br><br><IMG SRC="http://www.insideline.net/images/worms-8.jpg"><br><br>As for the weight of a jig head (or Texas bullet weight) to use with a worm, a general guideline is to try yo use at least the minimum weight to get you on or near the bottom.
