Pineview Crappie 6-1
#1
My daughter and I were trying to decide where to go fishing this past weekend. We were watching Hooked On Utah Saturday night on
Tiger Musky's at Pineview and we looked at each other and said let's go catch a Tiger! We have never fished Pineview and I was a bit disappointed on the lack of shore access and finding a place to launch our kick boats. All the boat launch areas had a million people playing in the water on the shore line. Finally after driving all the way around the lake we decided to launch at Anderson Cove boat launch.

We headed over to a small bay/inlet to the right and started fishing. Talk about a boatload of crappie. I was using my fly rod and a small brown and olive bugger. My daughter was using a worm under a bobber. We knocked the crap out of them. Nothing to big but we must have caught and released 50 fish between the two of us. Kylee actually got bored catching fish and beached her tube so she could play in the sand. We never got into the tiger mucky or any smallmouth but man did we pound the heck out of the crappie. Fun afternoon!

Crappie are always worth a day on the water. Especially if you find a group line you did.[Smile] way to go!

Hey that's my inlet you're in.[Smile] only playing of'course. We live next to anderson cove so it takes us just a few minutes to tow the yaks down and be in the water. My wife and I hit that spot a couple times over the past few weeks and while most were of the small variety we did manage to hook up with several over the 11" mark. My wife hooked up 9 consecutive times at one point. As soon as she dropped her line BAM another one on. I think the smallie/ tigers are a bit slow still. Hopefully I'll get out there this week while the bite is still on, but this time i'll take my fly rod! Nice work out there, always good to see young anglers catching fish too.
