The only Utah sportfish that still remains on my bucket list is a Sacramento Perch. My boat is in the shop, and so I am thinking of making the long drive this Saturday to complete my bucket list. If anyone would like to join me and share gas expense (should be quite reasonable, because I plan on driving my Escort) please send me a PM. Plan is to leave SLC area at 5:00 AM and will be back when we make it back (drive is approximately 4 hours each way).

That's very cool Kent!. I won't be joining you but good luck on your quest. If you're successful, what's next?

Hi Nate. Nothing definite. I just happened to be thinking lately that I had probably caught most of the Utah game fish, except for a golden trout and a sacramento perch, so I looked at the list and I was correct. Took care of the golden trout, and then some, last Saturday, so hoping to take care of the perch this Saturday.

Here's hoping you succeed. That area is my old stomping ground. Back in the early '50's we used to take them by the tubful in the spring when they congregated in the inlet creek.

That's one of 4 left on my bucket list. Wished I'd noticed this earlier.

Unless I miss my guess, the farmers in Garrison have drawn the lake down as far as they possibly can. That'll just leave a shallow carp infested mudhole.

Yep, it was drawn down as far as they could get it and the water was really stained.

If I'd had my head outta the netherworld, I'd have tried to dissuade you making that drive. As dry as it's been I should have realized that.
The aquifer those clowns in Las Vegas want to pump out of feeds the spring that is the major source of water for Pruess Lake. If they get their way that pond will be dry in just a year or two.

Yep, a huge bust. Long drive to get skunked at two reservoirs. Got stuck, in the middle of the road, driving to the second reservoir. Actually, we came across a place where it had flooded sometime previously, and although the ground was dry it was so soft that we sank to the point that we were high centered. Fortunately, some hunters came along and pulled us out. I won't be taking that drive again unless I am almost guaranteed that I will catch a perch.
