Hello, I was planning on taking my friend and her 6 year old daughter ice fishing for the first time tomorrow. I have been before but they have not.Any suggestions? They live in Ogden. We do have a sled and gear but with a 6 yr old cannot hike to far. I was even thinking of bagging it and take them shore fishing to a local pond. Suggestions.

Tough one this time of year....Pineview and Mantua should still have safe ice, but probably have water on top, or slush....and IMO they would both be very difficult fishing for a youngster.....I think you would be better off fishing one of the community ponds, shore fishing, where planted trout are usually in a biting mood....in my area, Bountiful pond has good access and fishing is normally good, and Kaysville ponds, just off the freeway, should be fun also....Hope you make it out....Guluk....
