It was a cold wet day, but we managed to catch fish. We where on the water by 7:00 am with no wind, over cast, in the low 30's, we started at Chaplain point fishing tubes with no love at 7:45 ran over to Horse creek worked the bank with tubes out to the island across from Rainbow point, hooked up 12 times between the three of us including a 6lb. Rainbow and another Rainbow that came unbuttoned as it was flying through the air. We where throwing our tubes tipped with night crawlers right on the bank with half the hookups happening when the tube hit the water and the others out off the bank. Around 10 am it started to rain, we tried to move a little south and east to get out of it, but it only got worse, so we took a very bumpy wet ride to the marina, we jumped in the truck around 11 had some lunch and checked the radar and decided to wait out the weather. At noon there was a break so we went down to the boat and it started to snow, we went back to the truck for a half hour, decided our best bet would be to put up the Bimini top and troll a broke back rapala on one down rigger at 10 ft and a pink squid and dodger at 12 feet on the other down rigger off Hawes Point in Rainbow Bay. We caught 6 more trolling. The two guys I fished with where ecstatic, the guy who got the big Rainbow said that was the biggest fish of his life, it was the only fish he caught on a tube today he got to reel in a couple when we where trolling. The other guy had never caught a trout, he hooked up six times today with the tube, a 21" cuttthroat was his biggest of the day. We had to work for them, but it was well worth the s on those guys faces. We called it a day around 4pm.
