Cold Wet Nasty but the fish bit
#1
I was slow getting after it this morning and didn't get on the pond until 9:20. Lucked into fish on the graph after about 20 minutes of looking. Went to work and the fish played right away. Nailed two gill to start off both were between 8-9". Then I tried the same jig from last week and nailed a 10" perch. So I kept trying that and about half my ice poles all with different rigs. Ended up catching some 11" perch that were actually really nice fish. By 11:15 they shutoff and the wind and rain kept coming. My sump pump was plugged with leaves so I had a pretty good puddle in the back and by 1:00 I couldn't stand the cold any longer. Plus the fish wouldn't bite either so I called it a day. Fun but not fast. Later J

Wow, thanks for the memories. My father (who has since passed away in 1988) had a cabin at Strawberry where he fished all the time. He used to keep a wooden box in his boat where he would put the fish that he caught. This is the first time I've thought about that in over 30 years. Thanks for the pictures they brought back some very good memories of fishing with him.

Thanks, I know they aren't anything compared to some lakes, (Cascade) but it's the best I've done on perch for several years, so I was happy... J

I'm glad I posted those pics then, I figured once you've seen one perch you pretty much seen them all, but I'm glad you had some good memories resurface from that... Best of times fishing with our family.. Know I always love it when my dad will go with me... Wish he could more often... Thanks J
