[] The big word is that Silverwood lake is going to reopen in march , so get ready to bust out the float tubes because the fishing should be killer . The only other thing to report is the local private lakes : Jess Ranch has been my get away since Silverwood has closed , they stock every fri and are open fri thru sun with their own hatchery on the property . There are two lakes to fish in , and they are stocked with trout and catfish . There are bass , bluegill and crapie in both lakes . It is 10 dollars for a five fish limit and you are garunteed one fish per angler . They also have a bass lake , it is for float tubes by reservations only , it is 20 dollars a person for 4 hours with four people minimum .
I have been going regularly and catching my limit of trout every weekend with an average of 2 to 3 lbs . They have a great breeding program for catfish also and I have seen catfish caught that weigh 16 lbs on trout guts . There is no fishing liscense required . I am not sure how many pounds of fish are planted every week but I know that they plant fish up to 6 lbs . The lakes are in Apple Valley . Take the I15 north to bear valley road and exit right , All the way to apple valley road and turn right .The lakes are 2 miles down on the right side of the road .
