I was up there again on Tuesday and caught several smallmouths on the reservoir by the first boat launch and then lots of smallies and trout on the river in various places between the dam and the raft takeout spot near the bottom of the canyon. No love from the walleyes this trip.

If fishing the river, concentrate on the slow pools and eddies created by rocks, trees, and bends in the river. 3" curly tail grubs fished slow with a piece of worm worked best on the lake and the river.

The river is running really high and is a bit murky, but that just forces the fish to hide in any holes the current creates so don't overlook ANY small pools or eddies created by the high water....Many of them are holding fish! The lake is off color as well, but there was no ill effect on the fish from last year when they drew it down for dam repairs, They are as plentiful as ever.
