A Gorge-ous Day 4-27-2018
#1
Finally got to feeling better after a 2wk infection kept me incapacitated somewhat so I can make my day trip to the Gorge. Met up with a good friend that came down from Pinedale at Lucerne. We fished any where from Wildhorse to Hideout. The water temps are still to cold in mid 40's which we couldn't mark any kokes. They were hanging in top 10 FOW scattering when boat came over. However longlining did produce our hard fought limits. Pink & orange were the go to colors. All kokes caught were in the 14-15" class no dinks. Those who were fishing in boats were either scattered trolling or jigging in the swim beach area.

Hey tks for good report....gets me itching for my trip there first week of June....did you even bother with downriggers? did you try planer boards? Nothing wrong with a 15" Koke....

I don't own a planer board and not sure if I'm going to. That's a decision I'll make eventually. The downrigger served a purpose by keeping my rigs submerged enough below surface. Early season 15" kokes still fills the freezer space. I'm planning my next trip based on some contractor work that gets done this week. Wyoming is next on my list outside the Gorge.
