The perch decided to eat today. A couple days ago they would come off the bottom but I couldn’t get many to bite. I was fishing in 40-50 fow, with the best areas being around 47’. They were biting all sorts of lures as long as the were tipped and preferred jigging to dead stick today. I was really trying to catch a walleye but no luck. Ended up catching about 35 with a couple that went 12”, and only a few little ones. The ice was pretty good but got a little thin behind the island.

Looks like you did well. I would love to see the perch at Deer Creek make a little bit of a come back. How thick was the ice???

The area I fished was 3 1/2 or 4 “ of good ice with a couple inches of white ice on top. But be careful, I backed out of an area that only had maybe 2”.

I fished that same spot Sunday. Marked fish all day, they followed lures all day but wouldnt bite. a few hit and misses but only caught 2 perch. I put everything in front of them. Was looking for walleye but only got 1 good hit and miss on a walleye lure. Im guessing too much pressure in 1 area. Everyone was huddled together for some reason. We were alone and saw fish all day. Doesnt make much sense to me
