I am planning on taking a bunch of 14 yr olds out on Deer Creek this up coming Saturday for their first time ice fishing. I wanted to try out Deer Creek. How are the ice conditions? What should I set them up with for good results?

Went there today and the ice was scary by the island area. I then went to the pullout to the Heber side from there. There is a trail down to the water. I went down and put my plank across and it worked fine. But the trail is so steep and slick that I couldn't get my sled down there and certainly would never have gotten it back up. Getting my plank back up was very difficult. I think you better find another lake to go to. I went to Tibble Fork and the ice is thick and solid there. You should catch planter rainbows.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

Didn't check, sorry. Those were the only two places I checked.
