East Canyon Ice Conditions

I have not been able to get out on the ice x 2 weeks. Thinking of East Canyon or Strawberry this weekend. I read the recent Strawberry post, just checking to see if anyone has been to East Canyon this week that can share how the edges/ice conditions are. I am hoping to take my young nephews out and don't want to take too big of a risk.

I drove up to east canyon last night the edges are about 15 feet out and the ice had the gray look of death to it. I would head for strawberry.

I took a ride also on Wednesday. Lake has risen slightly with water around the edges as mentioned. For your survival I would recommend to stay off this deck. It doesn't look good. I'm thinking we are maybe 2wks minimum from ice off, depending on these next storms that are lined up.

I also continued my ride into Lost Creek. Same conditions apply there. There was no one attempting ice fishing on either lake.
