First wiper of the year
#1
Got out on Willard today with Liketrolling and Wiperslayer. We started off around 7:30 am on the West dike trolling cranks for eyes but nothing, so we started using fligs in the SW corner, where we did so well the week before but only managed one that was a long line release[Sad]. So we moved over to Freeway bay and found some willing kittys, only managed a 1/2 dozen on this trip but the surprise came when Robert reeled in the first wiper of the year, a nice fat 22" fish. Thanks Robert for the invite, hope we can do it again soon.

Nice catch.

Your pictures affirm for me that it pays to have good equipment to help get you on the fish.

Sure is amazing the amount of detail you can see on your new Humminbird and it looks even better when you take a snapshot, like your attached pics.

Hey Robert that is pretty cool electronics, it really shows those road beds well... How does that 360 stuff work, can you see fish well enough to know where they are from you? Sure would be a great tool for Willard... Congrats to you both... Later J

You, sir, are a wordsmith par excellence. You're the only person I've ever known who loves a good pun as much as I do. You are well renowned for your vast knowledge and willingness to share but your fine wit makes it all the more better [Smile].

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

the 360 does not show the detail as good as the SI
but you can see the fish move and where they are at
Wiperslayer could spot them better than I could.

It works good for me fishing for kokanee you can see the schools then drive to them

With Sturgeon you can see them coming at you.

Amazing! Sonar has come so far. Wish I still had a boat to put one of those on. I bet looking at the screen is as much fun as trying to catch the fish you see on it.

When you see the school of fish are you able to put a gps mark right on them?

[#0000FF]More like "half-vast". But thanks for the kindly words.[/#0000FF]
