Echo
#1
Went to Echo Saturday afternoon with the boat and kids. The wedge was still not in making launching and loading the boat a little tricky. We arrived around 3pm and started out trolling along the northeast shore. Trolled all the way around the dam and along the west shoreline. Finally caught a couple along the west shore on a flasher and wedding ring at 11 feet and a rainbow J-7 rapala on the surface. Trolled back and forth here for about an hour and only picked up one more. We then decided to head back down by the dam. We caught 4 more, including one triple, which was quite exciting with just myself and two daughters. We did manage to get all three in the boat. Most fish we caught between 2 and 13 feet and one at 26 feet. The most effective trolling speed was 1.9 mph. There were two other boats and a few kayaks and several shore fishermen. The weather was a little chilly but pleasant and it felt great to finally get out on the water again.

I had some friends on the shore. They reported slow fishing for trout with the normal shore favorites: powerbait, worms and inline spinners picked up a few. No bass, catfish or perch. I am watching to see if anyone has luck with the walleye. I know the DWR released some sterile ones to help control of the illegally introduced ones (not sterile) . It will be interesting to see how that devlopes and if a pattern can be had to pick a few up.

Yes, I would agree that the fishing was a little slower than expected.
