Big Cottonwood
#1
I haven’t been fishing lately with my wife about to have our second child.

But I slapped some clips together and made a video anyway. A lot of this is from my lunch breaks I can hit Big Cottonwood Creek for 30 minutes before having to return to the office.

Can’t wait until runoff ends to keep exploring this place.

Don’t forget about the other small streams that flow into the valley. LCC, Mill Creek and City Creek all have trout. If you want a crash course in fishing brushy small creeks get a 6 foot or under fly rod and hit City Creek. Trout can usually be found starting several hundred yards below where Bonneville Blvd crosses the creek and then you have a good 8 miles upstream. While BCC has a few bigger trout than City Creek the average trout in City Creek is larger. I know the Tenkara fad ended quite a while ago but City Creek was the sole stream I’ve fished that I thought it might out fish a fly rod.
