Where to take boat on a windy day
#1
My dad is in town from California, to go fishing but it's supposed to be pretty windy tomorrow. Where should I go?

I had originally planned to take him to Strawberry to chase Kokes & Cutthroats. Sailflow.com shows strawberry blowing tomorrow about 15-16 mph with gusts in the low 20's. I have 16 foot fiberglass, double hull, center console boat that does well in the wind but is that too windy to fish Strawberry. I really haven't been out there when it's blowing. I mostly fish Utah Lake and try to avoid fishing when the wind is in the teens. Would you recommend fishing Strawberry and try to find a cove that's not to bad.

But is there another lake that I could take the boat out on that usually does well with windy days? I live in Orem and don't mind driving a couple hours.

Thanks in advance.

if you want to go to Strawberry you can do this
put your boat in the water at renegade about 5:30 am
fish for cuts west of the boat ramp
if the wind is safe go to the mouth of the narrows some times I have got kokes there
also kokes are in the narrows up by the Y where the narrows splits
the wind is not to bad there

the last link shows the wind at 10 mph till 11 am most of the time I'm on my way home by 11 am

there may be a lot of junk like sticks logs moss floating down the narrows
