Mill Meadow

A friend and I fished MM today from our tubes. We launched at the boat ramp and fished mostly in the UM Creek arm of the reservoir. We used fast sinking lines and size 6 & 8 bead head woolly buggers and leeches in black/green, black/orange, olive, and plum. We picked up a pretty even mix of small browns and 13" - 14" rainbows.

The water temperature was 56-60 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 4'. The reservoir is nearly full.

Most of the fish were caught while stripping the line in 15' - 30' of water. There seemed to be a lot of fish suspended around 18' - 22' down.

It was a nice day with very little wind until afternoon. The fishing wasn't fast but enough to keep us interested.[Smile]

We would normally be fishing at Forsyth this time of year but with the water users almost draining it last year there are just not a lot of fish to be had there.[:/]

Thanks for the report and pics, we sure don't get reports from that lake. Water is clear, was there anyone else there fishing? Do you think Forsyth is going to fill this year and if so, any idea if the DNR will restock it?

Your welcome.

There were only a couple of shore anglers while we were there.

Forsyth is full and the DWR stocked about 10,000 2.56" Tiger Trout on June 11th. I would imagine they will stock some splake sometime this year.
