Since these fish are descended from the Lahotan Cutthroat that survived in the creeks in Utah on Pilot's Peak, I think Utah DWR should look to see if there is a suitable location to stock them in a Utah lake or reservoir.

I recalled them trying some type of trout in Mantua that apparently didn't work. Puzzled why they tried them in Mantua.

[/quote] Probably had some eggs or sac fry from another state to try...and put a few in several different waters to see if they would work. Heck, they even tried chinook salmon in Utah Lake at one time. I never had the opportunity to fish for the kamloops in Mantua but have heard varying reports. A few fly flingers claim to have done well on some big hard-fighting fish...and were disappointed when no more were planted. But DWR biologists say that the conditions year-round were not suitable for this cold water fish from British Columbia.
