Me and my neighbor are heading to rockport Saturday morning, we've both never fished there before so hopefully we can find a couple 8-10" perch for a fish fry, any tips would be appreciated, gonna pack light and stay mobile no tent. Im thinking 30-40' fow as a starting point then moving shallower and deeper , any recommendations on where to try?

West side about mid-lake. There is a restroom pulloff where u can park. Head SE from there. You'll see where people are setting up. Get there early to try and take advantage of the early bite before sunup. After that, unless u are in "the spot", be ready to move every 30 minutes until you find them. Seems 35 FOW is the ticket right now. If u don't find them there, 5' either way. Good luck!
Been here since 630am, tried 30,35,45 fow, caught 3 at 45fow on the bottom, moved to 23' to try for some rainbows, seems pretty slow and cold today but thats how it goes! 16ish inches of ice with a skiff of snow on it here and there

Don't feel bad, Ira and I was out there yesterday and had the same experience. It is very inconsistent on where to fish at RP. It can be good in one spot and 10 ft away it can be dead. We were marking fish too but for the most part, they just would not bite.
We left and have been at echo for about 2 hrs. 1 rainbow 30' down in 40fow is it.

Lol, don't feel bad, at least it didn't cost you $50, a hotel, gas and food to not catch anything like it did me, seems like a lake that's tough to fish.

I sure hope those pictures were NOT from today. They show no new snow from today. I'll be up there tomorrow.
