I am looking for a small propane heater that can also be used as a stove to heat a can of soup. I want one that will run on the 16.4 oz propane tanks. If anyone has one that they recommend I would appreciate it. I would also like to know the dimensions of the unit (space is a premium in my sled). Thanks!

Kent look at Mr Heater mh15c. Its a pretty basic simple design, but ive had good luck. I bought one used several years ago and it still lights every time. It doesn't really pack small, but it's light weight

If possible, please show me tomorrow.

I've had one of these for years but I only use it for camping and backpacking, back in the day

Kent I’ll second the Mr Heater and Buddy heater. I don’t use mine unless it’s really cold or I’m camping overnight. I have the smaller size one and I’ve never had to use the high setting. It keeps my shelter nice and comfortable. As far as cooking goes Matt will have to show you the rack he made from a paint rolling grate. It’s pretty slick and keeps your food far enough away you don’t burn it like I do setting stuff on top. I found a great deal on a 17” Blackstone grill that I take with me now when I want food while fishing, it’s the bom but I do take too much stuff with me as you know. Also converted my propane to the grill size tank so I haven’t run out of fuel on three day camp trips. In fact I probably could do double length trips. Dimensions are 12”X13”X8”.

Go to Costco and get the Mr heater buddy heater bundle. I think I saw it for 69 or 74$. Takes one small green tank on the side and the Costco bundle comes with the hose so you can hook up a big propane tank if you want. That hose is around 30$ so the bundle just makes sense. The metal protective grill on it can be removed and flipped around to hold stuff but I like the small painter roller grill grates at Home Depot for 2$. They work awesome on there. Just flip it upside down and stick the hook parts around your handle. You can grill hotdogs, heat up foil wrapped breakfast burritos, get a small aluminum tray and heat up your food, boil water, just about anything. And it’s strong too. I have one for my buddy heater and the larger one for my big buddy heater.

I use the mr. Buddy with a small grill attatchment that a buddy made. I’ve cooked everythig from breakfast burritos, steak bites, totinos pizza, stuffed mushrooms, and salami.
