There are a lot of the mountain roads that are gated and closed, but I thought it used to be from the end of November, but maybe it's always been Nov 15th... I know they used to give you the hunting seasons and then they would close them off.. but I think it was because too many people wanted to go tear up the roads when they were muddy to see how far they could go... I think this is the same deal... I was really happy to see that wide open spot next to the gate, that says to me they aren't restricting the public, just the miss use under bad conditions... I hope it's wide enough for a snowmobile to fit through, if so my plans are still on for the winter... Later J

i drove and cast white and black leeches today. Nada  even tried a blue fox.The gate was open. The sign says that it will be open as weather permits. That seems fairly reasonable thru private land that I again picked up a garbage sack full of garbage.

Good on you but I'm surprised there was that much trash up at the Pig this time of the year. Were you fishing from shore or a boat? too bad the fish did not want to play.

shore , and there is still trash up there. I need to take my atv up with the winch to get one of those expandable sun tents out of the water.  more recreating on the lake the last few years. Absolutely nothing wrong with that just pick up your trash along with anybody else who is leaving it.

I couldn't agree more, lots of pigs out there, that don't know how to clean up after themselves.
