Newton Ice Update

I just checked Newton reservoir this afternoon (Tuesday) - there is a sheet of ice in the south end while the remainder is mostly open water.  There has been some recent fishing activity near the dam where you can see quite a few scattered drilled holes.  The ice is getting soft on the edges and a board is probably needed to get out on it.  Stretches of shoreline along the west side are ice free and fishable if someone wanted to walk over there and give it a try.  With the mild weather that is forecast it may be a while until there is safe ice over the entire reservoir.

Great to have an update, thank you very much... I've been going to get over there and check, but after the warm up I've figured it would be toast.. Thanks for the confirmation on that... Later Jeff
