Echo Slowing Down - 2/21
#1
Hit Echo yesterday with Obi and a couple other friends. Action for perch slowed way down.  Had a couple schools pass thru where some number were caught, but overall it was fairly slow for them.  Had a harder time getting them to commit.  There were many times that fish would come off the bottom to look and then go right back down without hitting.  Trout were about the same as they have been, maybe a little slower too but not by much.  If you saw them come through, there was about a 50-50 chance in getting them to strike if you could get your bait in front of their nose.  Size for both species is still great though.

One interesting note on my end is that the perch were not as interested in my lures tipped with an eyeball.  I caught most of mine on salted perch belly.  Same lures and baits as stated in previous forays out there.

Edges were poor…especially when coming off at 12:30.  Planks or waders are going to be needed from here on out.  Warm weather’s coming, and conditions will deteriorate further over the next week.  Be careful out there!

Did you fish at all? The afternoon bite has seemed to be weaker at Echo the few times I’ve stayed later.
