skunked at jordanelle
#1

thanks to everybody for the friendly advice and encouragement. I spent the morning at jardanelle near the hailstone day use areas and didn't even get a nibble. Most of the problem is that I don't have any idea what I'm doing, but i will continue to change things up until I fine the right way to go. I did have a very nice enjoyable morning. I think I'll be back out monday morning somewhere, any advice would be appreciated. Where is willow pond? I need to stay close to home on Monday.[Smile]

I'm sorry you didn't catch anything, but that's not what fishing's all about. I read back through your previous posts and noticed that you're primarily after bass. Utah has some pretty decent bass waters, but it's still a little early to get fast action on them, unless you're an expert, which I'm not. I caught a couple of largemouths at a local pond(clearfield) a little while back, but it was luck. The smaller impoundments will probably be better right now, since they warm up quicker.

Next month should really see the warmwater fish turn on. Crappie, bluegill bass, catfish (my fave). If you want a treat, talk someone into teaching you to catch wipers. I've only caught a few small ones, but they fought really hard for their size. I can't imagine catching a big one.

Good luck next time.

[Sad] Thats what fishing is all about, the first problem was the weather, the fishing is always super slow after a big weather change. the fish get active (mostly) 3 days of stable weather, either rainy, nasty or nice and clear, the fish will be most active the third day. sunday 4-25 could be a very good day to try deer creek for some walleye on that west bank line. hope this helps later chuck

I would have headed towards Rock Cliff area and fished the inlet of the Provo and then down along the cliffs down past the boat launch (road that dissapears into the water) Perchies should not have been a problem to catch, and bows should be in the river and inlet area, SMB along the cliffs.

Good luck on your next outing.
