Has anybody had any luck on the smallies this year. I know it's still a little early, but didn't they have a bass tournament on deer creek just recently? I usually don't really get into the smallies till June, but if their catchable now I'm down to try. Deer creek and jordanelle are the lakes I'm curious about. Any info would be great!

I caught some smallies over a month ago on Jordanelle, right next to the shore in the rocks and sagebrush using a mepps spinner with red reflective tape on it. The were in the steep drop off hanging in the brush.

Two weeks ago on jordanelle I got skunked on the smaiiles. but last weekend we got into some. Skeeter2 and his dad got into some last saturday up there, and tomegun has got into some so far this year.
I think based on what the experts have told me, you are correct in saying that it will be time to chase them around june, but yes they can be caught now if you are patient enough.

Caught a dozen today and one over 5 lbs in 2 hrs. Look in the staging area's or 10 to 20 ft from shore or 10-15 ft deep. No certain technique or color worked the best but had to keep it in there face and very slow movements.
