ive been fishing for muskys since they first intoduced them into pineview and the best thing i have found for them is a white spotted flat fish.. not too big.. they think it is a crappie and you dont have to keep it moveing, it will just float to the surface.. ive had alot follow one until i stopped it and then let it float to the top then with just a couple of twitches WHAM.. a perch colored one works great too.
good luck

Thanks for the hint! I can't wait to get up their in my tube for the first time. I have that as a goal for this year. It's kind of a far drive from Orem.

what size is that? sounds like you've found a way you like to fish for them that you trust, thats the biggest thing to get them often. I too have a bait that seems to work all the time. it's a 6" grandma's (cant find them here in utah yet) also my musky killer moose spinner is starting to pick um up more.
hey guys lets hear what's your best musky lure.

I'm planning a trip to Pineview on the 22 and 23 of May, I'm pretty new to the area, any tips on where to start at Pineview, I'll be fishing from the shore. Thxs

try the Gertson inlet on the north side it doesnt get much pressure and you can walk around the west side. it seems to hold a few muskys on a regular basis.. if your on shore be very sneaky they tend to sit in the shallows and will spook easy. the flatfish will float so just twitch it in close it wont hang up in the grass byu the shore..
GOOD LUCK..

Best musky lure? That would be a large floating jointed minnow rapala in perch color. Works great!
