[size 2][font "Arial"]LAKE TALQUIN, FL —Tallahassee, Florida, angler Jep Dove recently shattered the state's chain pickerel state record by more than a pound while fishing Lake Talquin, an 8,800-acre reservoir west of Tallahassee. [/font][/size]
[font "Arial"][#000000][size 2]Dove landed the 6.96-pound fish at 7:45 p.m., June 11. The fish, which hit a Bomber Long A, measured 28.5 inches and had a 14-inch girth. Florida's previous state record pickerel was a 5.75-pounder. [/size][/#000000][/font]
