EAGLE NEST LAKE The south boat ramp has reopened for launching boats but
anglers are advised to use caution. Action continued sporadic for anglers
fishing for kokanee and rainbows. A few good size fish were taken on kokanee
killers, needlefish and Z Rays tipped with corn. Most of the bank fishing
was centered on perch taken on worms.
HOPEWELL There were no reports from anglers this week.
LAKE MALOYA/ LAKE ALICE Trout fishing was slow-to-poor this past week as anglers only
managed to take a few trout on home made dough baits and power bait.
LOS PINOS Good trout fishing again this past week as several anglers
reported catching trout on copper john barrs, bead head pheasant tail
nymphs, small bead head wooly buggers, spinners, power bait and salmon eggs.

MAXWELL LAKE 13 Fishing was slow for all species.
MCALLISTER LAKE fishing was generally slow with a few trout taken on wooly
buggers, power bait and spoons.
MONASTERY LAKE Trout fishing was fair-to-good this past week using corn,
power bait and salmon eggs.
MORPHY LAKE The road into the lake is quite rough and four wheel drive is
highly recommended. Fishing for trout was very good this past week as the
lake was recently stocked. Anglers did well using power bait, salmon eggs,
prop flies and spinners.
PECOS RIVER Water flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 35cfs.
Trout fishing was rated as good this past week by anglers using small bead
head wooly buggers, caddis, bead head nymphs, worms and salmon eggs.
RED RIVER Monday flows were at 14cfs near Questa. Fishing was rated as fair
this past week by anglers using small bead head nymphs, worms and power
bait.
RIO GRANDE Water flow below Cochiti Lake was 361cfs. Fishing continued fair
using liver, worms and minnows for catfish. Water flow near the Taos
Junction Bridge was 184cfs. Good trout fishing reported again this past week
by anglers using streamers, bead head wooly buggers and red copper john
barrs. The best action was reported on the river above Questa.

SANTA CRUZ There were no reports from anglers this past week.
SHUREE PONDS Good trout fishing reports again this past week for anglers
using olive wooly buggers, spinners and stimulators. Anglers are reminded
that these are special trout waters with one pond reserved for anglers under
age 12.
SPRINGER Plenty of water but very light fishing pressure on this water. Some
good size catfish were taken on cut bait and chicken liver but there were no
reports on other species.
STORRIE LAKE Fishing was slow for all species.
STUBBLEFIELD Mixed reports this past week with a few bass taken on crank
baits and a few catfish taken on liver and dough bait. No reports on other
species.
UTE LAKE Most anglers were still going deep this week for white bass and
walleye. Most of the fish were taken at depths of 18-to-30 feet and most
were caught on spinner/worm and spinner/minnow combinations. A few good size
smallmouth bass were taken by anglers using crank baits, jerk baits and drop
shot rigs fished off main lake points. Anglers fishing over baited holes
with liver and night crawlers took home some good size catfish.

JEMEZ STREAMS Action on the streams this past week was rated as fair by most anglers. The best reports came from anglers using small copper john barrs, small bead head hares ears and salmon eggs. The best reports we received came from the East Fork, the upper Jemez and the Cebolla below Fenton Lake.

MANZANO LAKE There were no reports from anglers this week.

NAVAJO LAKE Angler reports this week duplicated those from last week. Most of the kokanee were taken at depths of 20-to-30 feet and were in the area between Francis Canyon and the middle of the San Juan arm. Best baits were silver and green Arnies tipped with corn. Northern pike fishing slowed a bit but there were several taken in the 6-to-15 pound class. Best baits were spinner baits, jerk baits and top water lures. The pike can be found along the rip rap and on the flats in the Pine arm and the San Juan arm of the lake. There were a few black bass taken on drop shot rigs, jerk baits, crank
baits and jigs.

RAMAH LAKE A small hook, a small worm and a bobber was all it took to catch some big bluegill here this past week.

SAN JUAN Water flow below Navajo Dam on Monday morning was 808cfs. This was a repeat of last week with very good fishing in both the Quality and bait waters. Best baits on the upper river were emergers, RS2s, leeches, San Juan worms and sparkle worms. The most productive baits on the bait waters were power bait, worms, jerk baits, wooly buggers, copper john barrs and garlic cheese.

ELEPHANT BUTTE Striped bass fishing continued to be very good for some anglers and fair for others. The best reports came from anglers trolling umbrella rigs tipped with white plastic grubs. Live bait also worked very well for some anglers who managed to catch limits of stripers. A few were also taken on jigs and deep running crank baits. Black bass fishing was rated as fair. Most were still being taken off main lake points with the best baits being jerk baits, drop shot rigs and jigs. Anglers fishing for bass also reported catching several channel catfish and blue catfish. They were taken on gulp worms, crank baits and jerk baits. The serious catfish anglers also did well using night crawlers over baited holes at the south end of the lake. A few good size white bass were taken on crank baits, grubs and jerk baits. There were no reports on other species.

ESCONDIDA LAKE Fishing was slow for all species.

GILA FORKS There were no reports from anglers this week.

LAKE ROBERTS There were no reports from anglers this week.

PERCHA DAM Fishing was slow for all species.

QUEMADO LAKE There were no reports from anglers this week.

RIO GRANDE Water flow below Elephant Butte was 395cfs as of Monday. Fishing was fair using liver and night crawlers for catfish. There were no reports on other species.

SNOW LAKE Fishing was slow.

GRINDSTONE Trout fishing continued good this past week with several fish taken on spinners, prop flies, salmon eggs, corn and power bait.

LAKE VAN The lake was recently stocked with channel catfish and a few were taken over this past weekend by anglers using liver, hot dogs and worms.

PECOS Water flow out of Sumner Lake was 94cfs on Monday. Fishing was fair using liver and worms for catfish.

PERCH LAKE Fishing is slow for all species.

RUIDOSO RIVER Water flow was 5cfs as of Monday morning. We had no reports from anglers this week but trout fishing should be good with the current rate of flow.

SANTA ROSA LAKE The water level continues to rise but fishing is slow for all species.

SUMNER LAKE The east side boat ramp has been reopened for launching boats. Fishing was reported as fair by anglers using crank baits and plastics for black bass.
