[cool] I don't know what part of the country your from, or what kind of catfish your trying to catch. But here in Texas, while trying to catch Channels, and small bluecats I use chicken livers. This is pretty easy to prepare, and it WORKS! The night before you go fishing take a container of chicken livers and cut into bait size chunks and drain well, place into a bowl and sprinkle the contents of one package of Jello (strawberry/banana) mix, cover and refrigerate. Use #4 or #6 triple hooks, fish on bottom. scoob

Here in utah we have channels and bullheads. Our biggest channels have come on fresh cutbait at night with carp and white bass meat.We also have good luck on shrimp, nightcrawler tipped with shrimp, squid, minnows, catfish charlie bloodbait"b".The bullheads will eat anything. If you want bigger fish use some fresh cut bait,or minnows from the same place your fishing. And be ready, those big ones are powerful!Good luck.

Lowes where in good ol Indiana are you from? I am from Terre Haute. Personally I have used chicken livers, night crawlers and some folks I know even have used hotdogs, they prefer the ones with cheese in them. Personally I think that they tend to snack on their bait. Ha Ha. But seriosly I have heard of some folks that use small gills on drop lines with the gills hooked thru the back. But befor you start useing drop lines make sure that they are allowed where you fish.

please do not use live carp or their eggs
carp and gold fish (baby carp) are not native to north america and do damage to ecosystems of the lakes by constantly disturbing the bottoms of lakes and rivers destroying hatcheries and habitat for native fish. making waters that were once filled with catfish and trout unsutible for their survival and they eat the eggs of all fish species in the waters drasticaly reducing the quanity and quality of north american game fishing.
