Crappies
#1
Hi all, I've been fishing north dakota waters all my life and have and have had decent success with the crappies. I was wondering if you guys fish for them in your waters and what types of presentations you use? Up here I usually just jig with a minnow (regulations permitting). Also what average size you catch? Good luck and good fishing.

Hey there Crappies,

Although not brand new.... welcome to the boards. Crappie are one fish that you can find throughout Califonia. Many lakes (especially so cal) I believe you'll need to fish with artificials but I know for sure that you can fish with minnows in some central and northern California lakes.

I spend most of my time targeting Crappie through the ice using lice and dead minnows.

but when I do in the summer I use deap diving megabait crank baits.

I fish michigan waters, and my avarage Crappie is 11 inches +or-3 inches

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Hehe.

I haven't really hunted for crappies. But Dave, what deep diver are you talkin' about that you use?

I haven't fished for them yet this year but in the past I have used microjigs suspended from a rattling bobber. Knocks them dead in my area.[cool]
