i just could not stay away.. my friend called up 2 day ago and told me that the walleyes were hitting down on the North jetty.. so i just had to go for my self and see,, well got there about 9:00 this morning fishing was slow tell about 11:00 then we picked up the first eye about 2 lbs.. then i hit the next one about 4 1/2 lbs then it went slow again tell about 3:00 and we started picking them up again i got one more on the shour and let 2 big one go about 3 feet from the shour.. then it was time to go.. all together we took home 8 eyes for the 3 of us..
all the fish we cought was on carp meat..

Congrats on the eyes . I sure was hoping to get one thru the ice this year there , but it is all gone now .

How about a few more tips on technique. I have never had any sucess on Walleye. Not for lack of trying. Have decided to stick to Channel cats as a result.....[crazy]

well if you have never cought a Walleye now is your best chance.. just go down to the harbor go out to the north jetty and hook some, carp meat,white bass meat,sucker meat,or chub meat. cast out and fish just like your fishing for catfish..
and wait tell you get a bite and then you want to try and rip the fishes head off when you set the hook then just pull it in..
they dont fight very good so if it feels like your pulling in a sticker bush or a waterloged stick then it's a eye.. but if it realy takes off you got a catfish,,

well sounds like alot more people are going to know about this spot realy soon.. just got off te phone with my buddy he is fishing down there right now.. and 2 news has down there doing a story about how good the walleye fishing has been..
btw. he has cought 1 LM bass 15".. and 1 walleye 4 lbs and a long line of a bigger one..
so looks like the weekend it going to be combat fishing down there..
you got to love it!!!

[cool]Yeah, that really does suck! I'm sure they must be sending down Riece Stein to do a piece on it. You'll probably see a shift in "the locals" from the Lincoln Beach area over to there now, so maybe the good news in all of this is that Lincoln won't be as crowded for the next couple of weeks?! One can always hope, right? Guess I'll have to watch CH.2 news tonight. Actually, I think Riece Steins little fishing segments usually air on the Sunday evening 10:00 news.

we were casting out about 30 to 50 feet out.. i have no idea how deep it is but not very deep i'm sure..
BTW just to let every one know... .. i said the south jetty.. but it was the north jetty we were fishing.. sorry!!
there is some work going on out on the south jetty .. looks like they are makeing a brake wall for the harbor..
