Lincoln Beach and Provo harbor walley
#1
I went to LB on Saturday for walleye fishing . I saw about 7 walleyes caught some caught on jig and some caught on bait. They all caught from 100-150ft from shore. you must have canoe, float tube or pontoon . I did not catch any walleye from shore . I end up with 11 crappies and 2 white bass for bait. I left at noon and stop at Provo harbor to check it out. Talk to my friends at Provo harbor. people are catching walleyes early. All walleye were catch on white bass meat. My friend catch 4 walleyes 3 male and 1 female (4lbs) I did not try because very strong NW wind..
I came back Sunday morning NW wind was 10-15 miles but I catch 2 walleye 1 skinny male and 1 (4lbs) female on white bass meat then NW wind started picking up stronger so I went inside the harbor and try for crappie I saw a few crappie was caught and I left at 10AM.
One thing I noted at LB is fish and games stayed in the park and check for license and walleye limit and size every one . My friend told me that 2 tickets was handed out on Friday for over limited on size at LB beach . At Provo park Ranger check for license and pass

That's great to hear that the DWR is out checking people's licenses and writing citations out there. Too bad they can't be out there more often since it's such a common area for violations.

Thanks for the great report!

What were you using to catch the crappie? Any specific color? I am hitting LB in a couple weeks and would like to see if I could get a few whites and crappies to bite.

I fished provo harbor on sunday from 1 to 4 with all the wind. I only hooked one eye 14" and lost a cat about 18" I did see about 10 eyes pulled out and thats all. I fished on the north jetty and a bit by the boat docks. all the fish came from the wind side of the dike.

[cool]Thanks for the great report, blueheron. That's excellent news that the water is coming into the lake so fast, and also that the dwr is checking anglers at an often overlooked area by them (Lincoln Beach). Good luck on your next trip out! I will probably be hitting it in my tube in a month or so if it starts to warm up. Not all of us are as tough (crazy?) as TubeDude to go tubing in icewater!

[Wink]Me too, cant wait really, the Ice season doesnt seem to be completly cooperating, I wont give up the hard water till its over, but I am getting the itch to get the toon out for some Eyes and white bass. You ever caught a wiper in your toon? that could be a good ride. [shocked]
