SCOFIELD UP DATE
#1
I WENT TO SCOFIELD ON SATURDAY 2-5-05, AND LIMITED OUT IN ABOUT AN HOUR. I GOT THERE AROUND TEN, BROUGHT MY FAMILY WHICH CONSISTED OF A 1 AND 3 YEAR OLD AND MY WIFE. AFTER AN HOUR OF SETTING UP THE KIDS THEY DECIDED THEY WERE COLD AND THEN ME AND MY WIFE TOOK THE KIDS UP TO THE VAN AND LET THEM WARM UP BY THE GOOD AL DVD PLAYER, AND I WENT BACK OUT ON THE ICE AND WITHIN TEN MINUTES OR SO NON STOP BITES, COULD NOT HOOK THEM FOR ABOUT AN 1/2 HOUR, I WAS GETTING KINDA MAD, BUT I FINALLY HOOK ONE IT WAS A 16" RAINBOW AND THEN ANOTHER AND ANOTHER AND ANOTHER AND THEN I FINALLY CAUGHT MY 18" BROOKIE AND I WAS DONE FOR THE DAY.

I WAS ON THE EAST SIDE, ACROSS FROM THE ISLAND IN ABOUT 10 FEET OF WATER, PRETTY CLOSE TO THE BANK.

I USED A SILVER/BLUE KASTMASTER THEN ABOUT 12 TO 18 INCHES HAD A GREEN 1/8 OZ JIG HEAD WITH GLOW IN THE DARK RUBBER BODY TIPPED WITH NIGHTCRAWLER.

[cool]Thanks for the report. I had no idea there were Brookies in there! I've only caught 'bows and Cut's there.

Do you have a pic of the Brookie? I have fished Scofield for the last 25+ years and never caught a brookie out of there????

hey so-b

good to hear that things went better for you at "Slo-field"...

I had 8 - fourteen to seventeen year olds up to the scout camp, we fished from 9 till noon and only iced -4-... the most action we saw was running into a surly lady-fish cop. She was doing her best to come up with at least one ticket-able violation, and really made a less than positive impression on some impressionable teens... I guess she was behind on her quota and having a bad day, fortunately we weren't able to take any citations from her and she packed up her snowmobile and scooted off.

I guess there's always next time... PB

Hey Papa B, That fish cop sounds like Stacy Taggart, if I remember the name right. I have met her a couple of times and she definitely has her good days and her bad days. You never know how she is going to treat you one minute to the next. At least you weren't able to help her quota out.
