Since it will be next year before I get a wheeler for fishing the berry I'm looking for advice from the sage's of Strawberry on where they would go if they had to walk to drill a hole. We walked to Hawe's point from the marina last week and it was a little slow on the catching side. Would you go further down Hawe's point, north of the marina, Jake's bay, across or down the shoreline at the ladders, or out from the road that goes to the dam on the soldier creek side? Just looking for some steady fishing and don't mind walking for 45 min.
Thanks,
Jeff

I TOO WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE AND CLOSER TO THE FISH. THE FIRST TIME I WENT UP THIS YEAR WE HUNG CLOSE TO THE CROWDS AND BETWEEN TWO OF US WE ONLY CAUGHT TEN FISH AFTER THAT WE DECIDED TO VENTURE A LITTLE. THE NEXT FOUR TRIPS WE HAVE ICED CLOSE TO 200 FISH. I'M SURE IT HAS ALOT TO DO WITH WHAT YOU ARE FISHING WITH BUT THOSE FISH CLOSE TO THE PARKING AREAS HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. WE HAVE BEEN GOING SOUTH OF THE MARINA ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAY IN 30 TO 35 OF WATER. THE ACTION SEEMS TO DIE AROUND NOON BUT UP UNTIL THEN IT HAS BEEN NONSTOP ACTION.

200 fish, sounds like a fun time. Welcome to the boards and as an official welcome I will officially see if you want to go out Saturday and show some of us lowly beggars a good spot to take a first time ice fishing friend. Welcome and we look forward to your reports.

Hey RedBeard,
You can borrow my radios and the fishfinder if you want. I wish I could go up and get skunked again with you but I'll be working.
Bob
P.S.
Catch something you can take home so we can have fish for dinner on Sunday.

Thanks for the offer, I've got a finder and radios. I just wanted to know what the consensus was on walking spots that were favored by the fish. Hope it doesn't snow too much sat., that will be a pain to walk back in.

RedBeard,
I'll let you borrow my stuff, if you let me borrow your shelter and auger on the 24th so I can take your daughter out fishing.
