A similar thing happened to me while icefishing at pineview a few years ago. I hooked a small perch and had him about halfway up when he suddenly got real heavy. My little icepole was doubled over and my loose drag was screaming. I fought the tiger muskie that had grabbed the perch for a solid 5 minutes before he finally stuck his head up the hole and decided he didn't want to get to know me any better than he allready did. He just let go and leisurly swam back down like the whole thing had never happened. I shook like a leaf for the next 1/2 hour....
