WalleyeBob and I fished Utah lake today and he got a chance to check out the repair job on his boat the hard way by busting ice all the way out of the harbor to get to the lake. The ice was close to one inch thick and at first I thought it might be thick enough to ice fish instead of fishing in his boat but Bob assured me that he had busted ice thicker than one inch to go fishing before. After we were out of the harbor we headed to the warm spring that was north of the harbor at Lincoln beach. There were a few people fishing from
shore when we arrived at the spring and Bob started catching
white bass right away. After he brought in his third or forth
fish I could not stand it any more, so I ask him for some advice. As the sun came over the mountain I switched to a different jig as Bob caught yet another fish,this one was much bigger. When the fish was close enough to the boat to see, Bob realized it was a huge walleye and told me to get the net, but before I could hand it to him the fish was gone. I finally started catching a few white bass as Bob caught another fish this one was a big crappie. More and more people arrived to fish from shore and one of them was Kent. It seemed like everyone was catching fish but we headed for another area to see if there were more of those big walleye that had moved out into the deeper water. After Bob caught a few carp and a cat we decided to head back to the spring before we left. This time I had the hot hand but soon it was time to leave. It was a fun morning on the water and I want to thank WalleyeBob for a great day on the lake, we've got to do it again. WH2
