Finally got back to FL yesterday and found 12 inches of snow on top of 20 inches of ice. Thought the weather was gonna be miserable but the sun actually shined most of the morning. Fishing was hot once we finally found the depth they were hanging at. 20-30 ft over the top of the weed line seemed to be the preferred spots - biting anything with a meal,wax worm or a pice of meat on it. Iced several nice splake and I did hook something really big but with 4 lb test and lite drag it did not last long - got warm in a hurry when that fish hit and took off. Some newbies to ice fishing went with us & iced a pile of perch - looks like they may actually be getting a little bigger but they are still fish finger fillets []
